It is with a very heavy heart that I have to tell you all that my beautiful Ollie went to sleep forever yesterday. He wasn’t acting himself and when the vet investigated it further, they found an inoperable tumour at the base of his neck so we decided to let him go to avoid any more pain.

He was sedated outside, where he always loved to be, with just me and Ian cuddling him and he fell asleep, very peacefully, on my shoulder. He didn’t feel like a foster at that point and hopefully he knew that we loved him as if he was our own. I have to admit that we are both absolutely heartbroken but at least he was given a couple of months where he felt loved and protected.

I am hoping he is up in doggy heaven, annoying the crap out of all our past friends by playing with his babble ball constantly and is happy. I have attached some pictures for everyone to remember him by.

Sleep tight, our gorgeous boy. x

I am so sorry to hear the news. I know he was a foster pooch but that doesn’t mean your loss is any less. At least he knew he was loved at his last day. Take care Laura and co. Sleep tight Ollie.

I am so sorry to hear this sad news, he was such a gorgeous, friendly big boy! Hope you can take comfort out of the fact he got to spend his last few months being treated like the complete star he was by such an amazing foster family.

my heart goes out to all of you,

Nikki x

Sleep tight, Oliver.  It sounds like a peaceful passing for the boy, and he at least knew love and kindness.

Ollie was 5, going on 6 in November. We are slowly getting used to the idea that he is gone. We are seeing little remnants of him everywhere, which is comforting in a way. I have barely slept in the last couple of nights just thinking of him.

I’m just hoping that all the little trips I took him on to pets at home, and to events, showed that he knew I wanted the best for him. Every time I think about him it hurts but we now have the adorable Tag, who has already chewed through one of our muzzles and is very entertaining. We always said Ollie was the happiest boy in the world but I think Tag gives him a run for his money!

My heart does feel slightly ripped in two but my experience has just shown me how much these dogs need our help and affection and, most of all, they deserve it. I don’t regret any minute I spent with my beautiful Ollie. Thank you for all your kind words. It helps me knowing that everyone knows what a lovely boy he was.

So very sorry to hear about Ollie. However, he will know you did your very best for him and the way he passed, with his head on your shoulder, shows how he loved you as much as you loved him.
