I had a “surprise” foster boy arrive this week, i wasn’t really looking to foster again until i found out what was happening with my job applications but i’m a sucker for a sob story!  smile
i picked Jay (JJ is a bit of a mouthful) up from the vets on Friday evening after he was neutered and brought him home. He was a bit out of sorts after the anaesthetic and adapting to a new home, but he’s settled in really well. i don’t know if he’s lived in a house before, if he’s not, he’s adapted amazingly well and all the noisy housey stuff doesnt phase him at all.
he’s the sweetest boy and i just can’t fault him. He walks great on the lead, is very polite (until it comes to food!) and he’s only had 1 wee accident since Friday and that was my fault due to forgetting that my alarm clock resets itself when the clocks change so i woke up an hour later.
He met Lorna and Steve’s pack today as they’re going to help out walking him at lunch time and he got on great with both dogs. He had a growl at a wee hairy dog this morning but he passed several lhasso apsos yesterday and he didn’t flich.
He seems to be a bit shy until he gets to know you, but after that he’s really friendly. I get whirly tail welcomes when i come home and sometimes if i’ve only been upstairs!  smile
He’s food mad and would mug you for your cup of tea but i think that’ll sort itself over the next wee while when he gets into a routine.
His coat isn’t the best just now but its mainly just dry skin and kennel coat. I’m dying to give him a bath to get rid of that lovely kennel aroma but i’ll need to wait until after his check up at the vets later this week.

I’ve taken a few pics; they’re not the best as they’re just from my phone. the first one is him excelling at clicker training and is him making a start on the dishes

What a sweet little face he has, and how lucky to have such a good start to home life. I hope he finds his forever home soon.

What a beautiful boy. I’m glad that you are a sucker for a sob story! I think it’s always amazing how they adapt so well to home life. Jed is perfect in house, although he would take food right out of your mouth - despite having no teeth! Look forward to seeing him out and about soon.

I love JJ, he is the double of Byron right down to the little dent in the nose, although my boy’s a bit greyer now.
I have everything crossed he has a great deal more brains and sense than my himbo.
Well done Karen, I know JJ will be very happy.

He’s very handsome…although the least you could have done is train Branny to do the dishes before he came to live with me LOL

Here’s hoping all the new fosters are in forever homes for Christmas.

i’m not holding my breath that he’ll be in front of byron in the queue for doggy mensa Marie…We were cooried on the couch last night watching the new David Attenborough programme, “life”; his interest was piqued when the hyenas were on, but after that there was a shot of a polar bear coming out of the water and she was giving herself a good shake. He jumped up and charged the telly growling as he went, when the scene changed from the polar bear to something else, he looked dead chuffed with himself that he’s seen her off! numpty!  LOL

He slid off the couch tonight following a good ole roach, i was laughing my head off at him but he lay there for a good couple of minutes afterwards as if that’s what he had meant to do all along.  smile

I’m hoping to bring him along to the walk on Sunday to show off what a great boy he is. He’s going to make someone a fantastic companion.
if you’re able to make it along Elaine we can set up the playdate then.  smile

good stuff!  smile Have you tried a gentle leader with Paige? it worked wonders with Branston and Lily.

Jay got his all clear at the vet this morning following his neutering and his scar is healing nicely. To celebrate (more for me than him if i’m honest) he got a wee bath and he’s looking and smelling fab now. Can’t say he was delighted by this, but he got a pigs ear afterwards to compensate.

I’m trying out a gentle leader with her, she hates it, spends half the walk shaking her head and putting her nose down to the ground so she can grip her muzzle with both paws to try to get it off.  Hopefully she’ll get used to it soon!!
