For those who haven’t seen the new boy on the main site, yes, Donnie is back in the foster system.
My ex-foster boy came back at the weekend after struggling to get on with his new Staffie housemate and is now being fostered by Lorna.
Since she’s my dogsitter Byron and Nell get to see him all the time and so do I.
He’s such a sweetheart but is clearly a hound dog and needs a groo pal to live with.
He has plenty of that at the moment!
Of course he thinks every time I go and collect Byron and Nell he should come to since that was his old routine and it breaks my heart when he excitedly tries to leave with us but I know in a few days he will settle in his new routine.
I also know that fostering him myself right now would be daft with Byron’s current issues.
Let’s hope he finds a home soon.

Oh No!!!! I’m gutted for him! What a shame it didn’t work out! i only fostered him for a wee while, but i can vouch that Donny is a total sweetheart, and a real sook of a boy.
If i wasn’t up here i’d have taken him back in a minute as a foster. I’m glad he’s at Lorna and Steve’s and there’s a wee bit of continuity for him.
give him a hug from me when you drop your fur weans off at day care tomorrow.

Donnie popped in this afternoon after doing a sterling turn at the Pets At Home can collection and is still here.
He was back on the sofa within minutes of arriving and very much at home.
I think its fate he came back to us at this sad time and while he will not replace Byron he will provide a new set of challenges to work with.
Nellie and I both need a daft lad in the house and Donnie fits the bill although I suspect he has more brains than his predecessor.
Nell was unimpressed tonight when she took a break eating her dinner and went back to her bowl to find Donnie had emptied it for her, as well as his own!
He does need to put a bit of weight back on though (and Nell could stand to drop a little) so no harm done.

What a lovely thing to do Marie.  Fate is a strange thing!

Good luck to you all.

Isn’t it just Allison.  Gives both you and Nell something to save your thoughts from dwelling too much on the loss of your boy, Marie

Donnie is one lucky boy!! Fate played a hand in bringing Donnie back to GAL just when he needed you and you needed him.

I totally agree with Elaine here. Donnie is just what you and Nellie need at the moment and you will be a great future for him. I am so glad you have found each other at such a sad time.
