lol at Christie. We used to holiday in Bournemouth when Fiona’s dad lived in Poole, there’s a park which is home to dozens of squirrels and Lass used to howl the place down whenever we went near. A hotel we stayed at put us in a ground floor room which could only be accessed through the restaurant, so we ended up passing Lass in and out of the bedroom window!
Thankfully we’ve not come across a squirrel since she arrived (it was a warning from her previous owner) but she is always very interested in some bushes that we often pass so I imagine that is squirrel territory!! lol
Yes Elaine, that’s fine, 12 noon at the car park of the David Livingstone Centre (the entrance where Allison and I met was at Station Road so just within that there is parking- we can met there. Not sure if there is more than one entrance)
That’s fine for me. Although Elaine and Mairi expect a phonecall from me. My direction is awful so might need some help. Ian usually acts as my guide but he won’t be there!
Laura, I haven’t a clue from the blantyre side!! I’m parking in bothwell and walking over the bridge! Hopefully the entrance you’re meeting at is close to the bridge as it’s the only entrance I know!! Lol
On the subject of dog friendly holidays , try http://www.cottages4u.co.uk , I work with some people who use them regularly to holiday in Skye and various parts of the UK, they swear by them. Hope this is of some use to you.
Just a quick bit of info re parking for Saturday’s walk. Because the centre not officially open for the season yet the gates to the car park are sometimes chained shut but no panic - plenty space to park outside the gates.
I’m just parking at the station so I can meet Laura and Meg off the train.
Hope weather stays good but great walk regardless!
Thanks very much for posting the websites, we have managed to sort our September holiday to Yorkshire through one of the sites! It has also inspired me to look into a short Scottish break in June too - there is so much choice and lots of very reasonable prices (we are lucky to be able to go outwith school hols)
