Hey guys,

Thought I’d introduce myself.  My name is Nicola and I co founded the Friends of Akitas Trust (UK) 2 years ago now, I also run a Pet Services business, dog walking, sitting, home boarding etc in the Lanarkshire\Glasgow area.

My nose got the better of me and thought I would log on here to see if there were any updates on 2 boys I used to walk for Karen F - Branston and Ozzy.  Had a look but can’t see anything recent for either! :(

I love my Akitas but I have a major soft spot for greyhounds and instantly fell in love with Branston, I also admire the work that GAL does, I know how hard it is to run a rescue in the current climate.  So i’ll be sticking around and hopefully can be of some help to you guys smile

Hi Nicola,

Welcome to GAL! I’ve heard a lot about you from Karen as I’m the lucky guy that adopted Branston - it’ll be 2 years in April, can you believe that?

You’ll be glad to hear that Branny is doing great. As we speak if I know my boy he’s lounging on my bed at home while I’m hard at work earning pennies to keep him in decapitated toys. He’s still as full of beans as ever and still doesn’t like other dogs, but that’s getting a wee bit better.

We’ve been on holiday to Ireland a couple of times, so if you put in a search here on the forum (search for “Branny”) you should find a couple of posts I’ve put on with pics of your pal having a ball on the beach.

Welcome aboard Nicola!  grin. I had just written a big reply in another post and realised that Malc had beaten me to the Branny news! if it’s Branny pics you’re after, we have plenty of him on irish beaches to keep you occupied for hours! grin
That’s fab you got the rescue up and running, i think you were just getting it started when i saw you last.
I’ll drop you a wee e-mail later and catch up on all your news!

Ahhhh thanks Malc!  Just seen some pics, he’s looking fab!

Glad to hear he’s not changed a bit!  I used to go into Karens and he’d be lying on the setee looking at me as if - ‘ucccch it’s raining out there, do we really need to go out today?’ LOL

Give him a big kiss from me when you get home! x

Welcome onboard Nicola! I think you might look after my mum’s black Lab Max from time to time?

Thanks for the warm welcome!

Marie - think it must be someone else that looks after your mums lab - the only black lab I had was called Poppy and she was delightful!

I’ll try and get some pics of my furbabies up asap smile
