Hi all,

After much agonising we have finally decided to change Petra’s name to something more befitting the elegant young lady she is. We finally decided on Willow and for the past couple of weeks she has been double-barrelled as Petra-Willow in an effort to get her and us used to the change.

Mostly it is going well, particularly when I use Willow while offering food or treats. The name she would have chosen for herself is Biscuit!!!!  We still have the occasional lapse and call her by the wrong name, usually in times of mild stress when the words “No Petra”  just pop out ( probably because they are so familiar.) LOL

If anyone else has a greyhound called Willow I hope they will take the fact that we have picked this name too as a compliment because we think the name is as beautiful as our girl.  We are now proud parents to the -OWS as in Willow and Shadow.

Willow is a beautiful name for her and goes so well with Shadow. I’m biased about Shadow though as that was my old black cat’s name.

I remember Steven Wright, the American comedian joking about calling his dog “Stay”.  “Come here Stay”!

Willow really suits her and goes so well with Shadow. Hope she makes it easy for you changing it!

we agonised for ages about changing champ’s name, before realising how versatile it was…he now goes by ‘Champ’, ‘Champers’, ‘Chump’, ‘Chomp’, ‘Chav’, any most recently, ‘Chad’  

Willow is such a beautiful name (and was my favourite character from Buffy!) - and I’m sure your gorgeous girl - and you! - will get used to it in no time

Shadow and Willow are both lovely names and both have landed well and truly on their 4 paws!
