Hi Marie

Nell is beautiful as a “non-grey” girl as well!  “Sail On II (aka Sail On) features on her pedigree and Penny’s !

Small world!

I phoned the greyhound database people cause I couldn’t trace Summer’s tattoo online. They were very helpful, seems my girl came from ashford. A litter of 10 pups apparently, although she was tattoed she never made it as far as racing, along with 3 of her litter mates (dunno what became of them sadly) her dad was Jomist and her mum Earlyfawn. I’ve never got round to tracking what their career was like. I know why Summer never made it to racing mind you, there’s not a slither of chase instinct in her body lol. A rabbit can hop right by her and she just looks at it like ‘what the hell is that?’

One of Morses great grandfathers was an Irish “I’m Slippy” but he only sired 2910 pups, so perhaps there is more than one. His father (Smooth Rumble) was brought over from Australia to Ireland and Morse is the dead spit of him.

That’s the same one that is related to Clyde.

Marie, I noticed that Nell was mated with Droopys Kewell and the name rung a bell, he was Clyde’s grandfather!!!

Marie, I just had a look at Nell’s date, as I know her & Jackson came from the same RGT kennel so I was wondering if there were any links. I can’t believe she had 38 pups from 8 litters, often 2 in the same year. That’s just awful - poor girl…

EDITED… just realised I’ve read that wrong. It was Nell’s mum, Faithful Suzy, who had all those pups. Even so, that’s really sad.

Just for fun I was looking at the greyhound data site for my weans family tree.
Mason’s grandmother was I’m Slippy, she was also Nell’s great grandmother and Donnie’s great great grandmother!
Sadly Byron’s tattoos never matched anything either here or in Ireland, much like by boy they were an enigma wink
Mason’s racing name was Baby Sham, Nell was Rapid Passion and Donnie was Witches When
Anyone else found a link between their kids?
Marie

Hi Marie

It seems our brood(s) are related. I’m Slippy is H’s great great grandmother. H’s sire was Vintage Drumcrow and his dam was Legal Jude. Interestingly, H and his litter are not listed under his sire’s recognized weans and his dam is fascinatingly not listed as having any children although the Newmarket stud book named her as his mother and I know of, but have not managed to track down H’s brother Tippy (Magnus’s Tips) whom she is also recognized as having sired.

Nell carried on the tradition and had 25 offspring, registered on the site.
I don’t know how many more would not be registered.
No wonder she has ‘lady’ issues, she can’t feel anything down there anymore.
She attracts a lot of attention from the boys, I’m guessing she gives off hormones still, and every time they stick their nose in unwanted places she gives me a look I call her ‘world-weary hooker’ face.
God love her!
Marie
PS Lea maybe I’m Slippy only had that number of pups when Morse was born, he is an older boy

My Maddison has her ear marks, but never had a registered racing name as she wouldnt chase. I know there was only 2 in her litter, her and Skywalker Holly. Her Dad is Big Daddy Cool and her Mum is Larkhill Holly.

I know these threads are from last year, but I was doing a bit of detective work on my own dog Bee (Vieris Heart). Out of the litter of 8, 2 are still actively racing in the London/Sittingbourne area, Poorheart & Best Seat. Sadly (as happens all too often) 4 have dropped off the radar after their last races, Heartburn, Lady Jinks, Perfect Week & Sandy Cheeks.
The last one was the only one who never raced and is listed as GRWE Ted.
GRWE passed my details onto his owner who re-homed him and she was thrilled that I’d got in touch as they knew nothing of his history except that he’d been handed in to an Irish pound and then brought over to England by GRWE. The reason he never raced is because he is blind.
Bee’s sire Droopys Vieri is one of Ireland’s top studs and is still standing at stud today. He has sired over 8,640 offspring.
Miss Marple eat your heart out!

Hi Lindsay

Your Bee’s maternal great-grandad, Stapler’s Jo, was my Cindy’s paternal grandad.  That makes our hounds first cousins once removed.

All three of mine have I’m slippy in their breeding somewhere. Few other dogs they share too. Hehe.
