We have been fostering now for a year and a half. Some of our dogs have been here for a night, some 4 months. We remember everything about every single one of our dogs and fostering makes rehoming so much easier. We need all sorts of fosterers to help with these gentle, lazy dogs.

What a fantastic video, that sofa has certainly seen a lot of action!
You and Ian (and Meg, of course) do great work fostering and I hope it inspires others to join in.
It is such a crucial part of finding our dogs the right homes.

What a fantastic inspiration you, Ian and Meg are with all your foster hounds Laura, I know they all go mad when they see you again at the days out and events.

Video was brilliant, bit of a lump in the throat when I saw all those happy and contented foster dogs. So come on all you folk considering fostering! Get in touch with Laura and see what a joy it is helping a grey or lurcher find their feet in a home.

Be warned though, it takes a strong and special person to understand that no matter how hard it is saying goodbye when their current foster dog goes to a new home he/she is making space for the next one who needs you.

I did try fostering but was hopeless, just lost our first foster dog Mouse after 11yrs, so I guess I’m neither strong or special.downer

To all those who currently foster dogs on behalf of GAL a big thank you, you do an incredible job. grin

That is such a lovely video Laura. As others have said, you Ian and Meg do an tremendous job. For every dog you’ve fostered thats a life saved, perhaps not the life of the foster dog, but it has meant another dog can come in to GALs care. Could you post it on to the facebook page so more people can see it?

Dee, I’m sure Mouse would have disagree. As a failed fosterer myself I know it’s impossible to part with one who slots so perfectly into place in your life!

<sniff> What a fabulous video!!

We’re also failed first time fosterer’s (Coal) but did better with the next few (Arnie, Biscuit/Diesel, Tommy).

Fostering is quite difficult but also extremely rewarding.  Bruce and I are eagerly awaiting our next foster dog smile

Hi Laura and Ian,

Just watched this fabulous video of all the lucky, lucky dogs who have passed through your loving and caring home - including our wonderful boy Shadow, both on his own and with his mate Dodger. We will be eternally grateful to you for being his initial rescuers and enabling him to come to us. He really is the most loveable and loving boy anyone could wish for and Willow absolutely adores him- as do we.
I have the utmost respect for all you do and wish I was strong enough to love them and pass them on to great lives.  Maybe one day???

Love your video Laura what an achievement you both must be so proud. It takes a special person to be able to do this.  And not to mention Meg she must think ’ What next’ each time, she must have a great nature too.

Great video, I hope it inspires many more fosterers to get involved.
