Hi folks,
Looking to pick brains please…....
Has anyone took their pups on camping holidays before?
We have a notion to take Pepper & Meikka camping, I was wondering if you have taken your dogs, if you could recommend nice sites.
Thank you

Hi Yvonne,

I don’t do camping but can thoroughly recommend Cairnsmill Caravan Site in St Andrews which also has a small campsite. You can walk the Fife coastal path and Pepper could do a reenactment of Chariots of Fire on the West Sands!! Lol

I’ve taken my last greyhound, Shelley, camping many years ago, but I was living in Englandshire at the time, so the sites I can recommend are a fair distance away.  The nearest one was in Langdale, I think that this is the site.  Reasonable facilities, lots of very good pubs & a stunning location.

We took Meg and foster boy Billy to the wigwams in loch lomond last year and they loved it. There’s a lot of really nice walks and the people are lovely. They are called strathfillan wigwams as far as I remember.

I can recommend the tourer, we’ve just gone back to touring with the growing family ! Just be sure to get the best layout for sleeping, we bought the 6 berth with a double for myself , Mika and Jake, two singles for joan , Rudi and Kira and two bunks for Bryce and Leah.I think the double was meant for Joan and myself but Mika had other ideas, its fun trying to get everyone organised and the looks you get when you arrive with 2 kids and 4 dogs is something else. Happy camping !
