Rescuing dogs is an expensive business, but it's worth every penny to ensure these wonderful dogs are safe, happy and healthy.
Like all animal charities, GAL relies on the generosity of the public to continue its work. GAL doesn't employ any staff - we're all volunteers - so every penny goes straight towards rescuing and rehoming greyhounds and lurchers across Scotland.

Ways we spend your money...
Dogs come to GAL from all backgrounds, but the majority are straight off the racetrack and the end of their racing career is sometimes due to injury.
Every pet owner knows, vet fees can be expensive and we treat the dogs in GAL's care as if they were our own - if they need help, we make certain that they get it.
All the dogs that come into GAL's care are neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and thoroughly checked over by a vet before being considered for rehoming.
At the Greyhound Awareness League, we never put a healthy dog to sleep.
Sadly, we sometimes take in dogs who can't be permanently homed because of behavioural or medical issues. These dogs remain under the care of GAL in long-term foster homes and live normal, happy and comfortable lives.
Their food and any medical expenses are covered by GAL for the remainder of their lives.
